Curtains are costly and can pose an insurmountable expense to the poor who are most in need of privacy due to the generally crowded living conditions that they inhabit.
This window cover is inexpensive and helps control the flow of natural light into the room. It can assist in crime prevention as no one can see into the room.
Two layers of spunbond fabric are attached along the top edge, with space for a curtain wire or thin rod. The white back layer, which may be plain or with a lace panel, is behind the coloured softer front layer. For daytime use, the front fire retardant layer may be gathered and tied to the side. For night time use, when the room is lit, the tie backs are released, giving a double layer of insulation. The fabric is made in South Africa and is environmentally friendly, can be recycled and gives a certain degree of insulation from the heat or cold.
The window covers can be made in a variety of sizes to dress different sized windows. The fabric will not fray and so, if necessary, both sides can be trimmed equally to fit an awkwardly sized window.
These make really useful gifts for staff and can be cost effective for builders completing low cost housing projects and needing something extra for the properties. The available colours of the front layer are blue, yellow, green, orange and pink, while stocks last.
This is a patented and innovative product.
